2× tournament champion (Stanford Invitational, Harvard National Speech & Debate Tournament) with 900+ NSDA Honor Society points across 50+ tournaments — now telling stories shaped by three languages and two countries.

I'm a writer, speaker, and debater currently attending Archbishop Mitty High School. I grew up moving between English, Mandarin, and the Taiwanese my grandparents speak – three languages that each hold a different version of who I am. My grandparents are from Pingtung, Taiwan, and the stories they've passed down about food, migration, and family have become some of the material I keep returning to in my writing.

Competitive speech and debate has shaped how I think and communicate. I've competed in over 50 tournaments, earned 900+ NSDA points, and placed at both the Stanford and Harvard Invitationals, as well as CHSSA and the Tournament of Champions in Extemporaneous Speaking. Debate taught me to build a case quickly and argue with precision — skills I'm now learning to translate into fiction, where a character doesn't need to be defended, just understood.

This past summer, I designed and taught a free two-week Summer Speech & Writing Camp for incoming 5th and 6th graders, covering argument essay writing, SPAR debate, and impromptu speaking. Teaching gave me a new appreciation for how much thought goes into helping someone else find their voice — and made me want to keep doing it.

I'm always working on something new, whether it's a short story, a poem, or my next tournament case.
